Things to Consider
Every home is unique. A few thoughts on how and where to display your mount.
Every home is unique, with its own colors, woodwork, furnishings, dimensions, and character. Some clients have a dedicated room for their wildlife displays, while others incorporate their mounts into existing living spaces. Whatever your situation, your home reflects your personal style, tastes, and interests.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with many different types of spaces and display settings. Through that experience, I have developed an eye for how wildlife can be thoughtfully incorporated into a room, with careful consideration given to the surrounding décor and overall environment.
My focus is always on the wildlife, but I also consider the space in which each piece will be displayed. I am happy to offer my experience and perspective when you’re deciding how and where to display your mount. For example, if a room features zebra-print wallpaper or other African-inspired décor, African wildlife may complement that space more naturally than North American species.
Certain spaces lend themselves particularly well to specific types of displays. Some are ideal for trees, water scenes, or underwater settings, while others may be better suited for mountain landscapes, arid environments, or pieces suspended from the ceiling. Colors, textures, proportions, lighting, and the dimensions of the space can all influence what will look best.
My goal is to help you create a display that feels natural within your home while showcasing your wildlife in a way that is both artistic and authentic. Once I understand your tastes and the space you’re working with, I can help you explore ideas and make decisions that bring the entire display together.
Throughout my years in this trade, I have often helped clients answer questions such as, “What should I do here?” or “How could I display this?” For me, taxidermy has always been about more than preserving an animal. It is about creating something meaningful, artistic, lasting, and helping you find the best way to make it part of your home.
I look forward to working with you.
